National Wear Red to Work Day is February 5th, 2010. This is a day when Americans nationwide wear red to show their support for women's heart disease awareness. This national observance is an important part of The Heart Truth awareness campaign sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in partnership with The Office on Women's Health (OWH) and other organizations such as the American Heart Association committed to the health and well-being of women. This national campaign is building awareness of women’s heart disease and empowers women to reduce and prevent their risks.
This year the Lafayette County Health Department is asking all businesses, organizations and citizens of Lafayette County to show their support for Women’s Heart Health by wearing red on that day. We are sponsoring a ”Red Wall For Women’s Heart Health”. Take a picture of your employees, organization, group, or families wearing red and send them to the Health Department. Pictures can be mailed or dropped off at the Health Department at the following address: 547 South 13 Highway, Lexington, MO 64067. Pictures can also be sent electronically to bufork@lpha.mopublic.org. Please include the name of your business, organization, group or family and get these pictures to us by February 16th .
WE WILL BE TAKING PICTURES FRIDAY!
